“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of
God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God-this is your spiritual act of worship.”
(Romans 12:1 NIV)
Many people cringe at this verse because they know a sermon is right on its heels telling them to do something that they just don’t want to do. For me, however, this verse shows my heart’s greatest desire.
Hi, my name is Jesse Ophoff. I’m a missionary at heart, and plan on going into full-time missions as my life’s work. So far I have traveled to Juarez, MX where I worked with Hands of Luke Medical Ministries and to Torez, Ukraine with Hope International. While in Juarez, I helped build a home on the outskirts of town and worked with orphans. We needed a cover story to preach the gospel in Torez, so we taught the local kids English in a VBS-style camp during the summer of 2007.
Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Mark 10:14 NIV). I love mission work of all sorts, but my passion lies in ministering to children, especially those who have been abused or neglected.
If you want to know more, you can e-mail me at jophoffe@gmail.com. Any and all prayer is much appreciated. It truly is powerful and effective. May the Lord be with you. Jesse Ophoff.

Boy Meets Girl
By Joshua Harris / Multnomah
If you're fed up with self-centered relationships that end in disillusionment, it's time to rethink romance. Finding the loving, committed relationships you want shouldn't mean throwing away your hopes, your integrity, or your heart. Joshua Harris makes the case, for courtship. As old-fashioned as it might sound, courtship is what modern day relationships desperately need. Think of it as romance chaperoned by wisdom, cared for by community, and directed by God's word. Filled with inspiring stories of men and women who have rediscovered courtship. |
